Hey ya'll, I'm Katherine Smith!
As a Pensacola local, I have always had a passion for photography. I have studied photography, technology, and editing throughout my education. My experience includes being a full time studio editor.
I enjoy photographing the natural beauty of the Panhandle as well as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team.
You can find me photographing the beautiful Gulf Coast, spending time with my fiancé and son, or frequenting my hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
"What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that is gone forever, impossible to reproduce" - Karl Lagerfeld
My Background.
Back in the day of disposable cameras, my little elementary school hands picked up a Kodak and the rest is history; my love of photography was sparked. I soon filled up memory cards in digital cameras, honing my skills with every click.
Editing photos with care and precision became second nature after years of photography competitions and as an apprentice of professional photographers. When I was ready to start making my passion my profession, I took the leap.
The Gulf Coast was calling, so that leap landed me in Pensacola, FL where I live with my best friend turned husband, Tanner and our son, Maddux. We tied the knot on October 17, 2023 in the beautiful mountains of Boulder, CO! If a 3-year-old wasn't enough to keep us on our toes, we have a dog, cat and 4 fish.
When I moved to Pensacola, little fit I know our white-sand beach town is also the home of the US Navy Blue Angels. Like the Kodak moment, a new passion was unlocked as soon as I saw the blue and yellow jets maneuvering in the sky.
Maddux and I love watching the Blue Angels practice and perform. We've had the opportunity to meet and become friends with many of the team members. Maddux was the cutest Blue Angels pilot for Halloween last year- it was a big hit! He also has multiple team photos in his flight suit!
While being huge aviation enthusiasts, I am a huge music enthusiast. From being a Taylor Swift fan since her self-titled album, to being a child of the tree king, Hozier, to my country roots and high school 00's rap music.
Whether photographing aerobatic demonstrations, supporting moms-to-be feel beautiful during their baby-bump beach photoshoots, wrangling kiddos at family sessions or capturing candied moments of independent teens about to fly the nest. I strive to provide a comfortable environment to capture authentic moments that will last a lifetime.
I would be honored to be your photographer and create life-long memories for you and your family. Talk soon!
